Last year we had a bike headlight building workshop where we produced some really great headlights for bikes. They are 10 watt Halogen lamps and they're pretty bright. We can probabaly bring this project in for $10-15 per unit. See the project here... http://www.meetup.com/invent/calendar/9138135/ Folks want to do it again and we have some decisions to make about a power source for it. Please express your interest below. What kind of batteries would you like to use. Whatever you pick is what you will be committing to. i'e. If you say rechargeables, you'll always have to use rechargeables. In all cases you will have to supply your own batteries. |

I'm sure there are some out there that are interested in improving at hill climbing and building endurance for distance, whether related to training for a specific ride or just improving fitness. I'm thinking of leading an 8 week series starting in late November/early December dedicated to this. This past winter another rider did this for me and it helped tremendously, so I'd like to pass it on. We'll start out on some fairly easy hills (as hills go anyway). And they'll get progressively harder as the series goes on. Along with the one weekend ride, there is interval training which can be done on your indoor trainer. There will be a "class assignment" each week to go along with the ride. The end goal is that if you that complete the series, you'll be ready to tackle many of the organized rides that take place over the course of the year, or have a head start on training for the really hard rides (like the Death Ride or the Davis Double). |
