I decide where to ride by closing my eyes and pointing at a map. I like challenging rides, smooth rolling singletrack (not too tech.), road rides with little traffic (hit by a car once), and friends to ride with to keep the mountain lions away.

I want to build my endurance so I can do something ambitious, like the Kokopelli Trail.
Intermediate, I think. The only reason those guys always pass me on the bike trail is because I'm on a mtn. bike and they have road bikes. lol.
Silver Lake - up Horse Canyon Trail at the north end, along Squaw Ridge/Immigrant Trail, down the motrocycle trail at the south end through Plasse's then got tangled in fishing line and big rocks going along the east shore back to the car. (no trail)
A really fun group of people.

"Maybe next time."
"Yes, Sharel, I thought I might try road riding. If all goes well Saturday, and if no one makes fun of my patented hybrid diagonal open-side quick-release-with-a-twist pedal cages, I might actually buy a road bike. With SPD pedals. (Well, maybe not.) But for my first road ride, I'll be on my old mountain bike. It's been rode so much it is a "rode" bike (LOL), and after all those miles on the trails the tires are worn completely smooth, which should be perfect for road riding. See you Sat."
"Please add me to the waiting list."
