I find riding a bike to be the best way to get the most out of yourself and the only way to do that is to suffer. 'No pain, no gain' is fundamental to improved cycling. It all comes down to suffer now or suffer later, it's good for the psyche.
I stumbled across this looking for an entry for the Death Ride
The ride out of Sutter Creek..once part of the old Sierra Century.. is a great ride. Sutter Creek/Volcano/Fiddletown/Omo Ranch Road/Highway 88 for 2-3 miles/then a 20 mile run, almost all downhill, back to Sutter Creek. About 70 miles.

Frank, I'll hit you up for something more substantial. Just kidding. Glad to know money is so versatile. Don't worry about it. What's the expression? Help forward? Cute little guy there with you.
If you have some of the tube pinched between the rim and the tire, it can happen. After one day of a couple of exploded tubes, I learned to start checking when I mount the tire. Haven't had it happen since.
Dang Frank! It's been that sort of day I guess. Rick managed to get back, but will have to replace the tire. It was bulging pretty good. The crack was growing. Glad you were so close to home and made it back ok. Thanks for coming today!
Hey Frank, glad you found our meetup website, it's been a while since we've ridden together. I won't be able to ride tomorrow but will definitely be riding through the fall and winter. Are you riding Levi's Gran Fondo next weekend? Cute profile picture btw! :-)
Frank, I figure we'll get back around 12:30-12:45. Hoping to start the rides up again on Tuesday. Soon as I can shake this blasted head cold.
Rob Ryerson is selling his entry.
