I've always really enjoyed the peace bike riding gives me. I don't look at it as exercise as much as I do a stress relief and escape. I joined this group because I was interested in something more challenging than the AR bike trail.

When I was younger, I rode from Canada to San Francisco alone averaging 76 miles/day over a 2 wk period. I went to college in Davis so completed that double century in '81 and'82. However, have completed 4 centuries this year.
Nice group of people.

"RE: the importance of proper hydration, I found this interesting. "FYI....almost all men have a natural crit of 40-45%. Most endurance athletes are lowish...like 40-42%. This is due to hemodilution with plasma. The body produces more plasma as it's senses even slight dehydration for the daily grind of of training.""
"Doin' the wildflower instead this month."
"Do they check your number before you start and they're OK with folks starting before the official start time?"
"hope the weather is good, not too hot"
"Woohoo!"
"With this kind of response (9000 requests for 2500 spots) you'd think they'd offer it more often."
"This sounds like a great beginner ride and would like to help in the future but probably won't be able to until April."
"unfortunately, something came up :("
"Otis, some people rate centuries according to difficulty.... with me it's all about the food at the rest stops. (Napa Century in August has homemade cookies.)"
