Already feeling guilty about all the food you're gonna eat on Super Bowl Sunday? Fret no more, because I've concocted up a slight variation on a standard ride we seem to do on Super Bowl, Memorial Day, or Labor Day. This ride starts right away with some hills that bite, but followed up by some great scenery, downhills, and rolling country. Then in case you haven't sweated enough or want to burn a few extra calories for that extra bowl of chili or hot wings later that day, we end with climbing Ridge Road.
We will meet at the Indian Hill Park and Ride (the one across from Denny's) just off the Newcastle Exit on I-80. We will depart by 9 AM!
I've made a few slight changes to the extension of "Zach's Auburn Hills Ride". As usual, we will head down to Powerhouse and over to Shirland Tract in favor of Indian Hill. This will take us up through Auburn where we will venture through Old Town/Downtown before leaving for rolling country side. We will quickly make a turn onto Millertown which is one of my favorite scenic roads. Instead of heading down Ball Hill to hit Chili Rd, we continue on Wise Road as we continue out towards Lincoln for some flats and mild rollers. We then work our way back and pay a visit to Ridge Road to get back to the cars.
We will have a few regroups to keep everyone together and one rest stop for water, bathrooms, and a snack that you brought. Regroups are not rest stops, once the last person has arrived for regroups we will roll! We will allow time for taking off layers with the weather. The ride should last about 2 1/2 hours with regroups and break, no more than 3 hours.
Here is the route map and cue sheet, please print one and familiarize yourself with it!

Helmet required. Bring plenty of fluids, snacks, $$$, spare tube/patch kit, pump/CO2, and be able to change a flat tire!
Scott: 1) You need to keep working off "Sardina" like I need to work off "Jerka". 2) You need to burn some calories before the food coma known as the Super Bowl 3) You need a recovery ride after Slug Gulch 4) Your single speed misses you. Is that enough shame?
FYI, we had 2,600 ft for elevation gain according to the Garmin.
If the weather holds, I might be game on my SS :)
