In case anyone is interested, I am riding a modified route. I will be cutting off the boring orchards at the end. Prolly about 80 miles total in lieu of 100.

Kevin, I live in Greenhaven and can carry two additional bikes. However I was planning on leaving Saturday evening and camping at the fairgrounds.

I'd be willing to leave on Saturday and camp. Do you need to have a reservation to camp, or can you pay for it when you get there?

Where are all of you driving from? I live in Lincoln and booked a hotel a few weeks back. I would be interested in carpooling with others as well, plus I could cancel out on the hotel. I am doing the 125 mile option...

Bryan, I am coming from Elk Grove. I would be willing to consider coming through Lincoln so we can car pool. I am doing the 100 mile option. Would you be good with driving up Sunday morning?

Kevin - I think I am going to go ahead and drive up to Chico on Saturday afternoon since I already booked a suite hotel. However, given that I am still looking to ride with someone through the event. I would enjoy your company for the first 100 miles. Let me know. You can email me at: bss5742@gmail.com

Do we want to try to ride as a group, or at least start out as a group? I propose a 7:00 gather and a 7:15 roll-out.

This will be my fourth year doing this ride and the first time that I will be going up on a Saturday afternoon to not only check in early, but to soak up the atmosphere. If the majority of us go up on Saturday, we can sign in and avoid doing that mess on Sunday morning. Plus it will allow us to start at 6 am.

I would think the logical meetup point would be near where registration is held. I will be in by blue Hammerin Wheels kit, so I should be easy to find.

Change of plans. Tammy wants to do the easy thing and book a hotel. Found out every room in town is booked so we're sleeping in Corning. 20 miles away. Did anyone want to meet for carb loading dinner or the start?

Here is a modified version of the 125 without the last boaring 30 miles of flat and the ball-busting pot hole road in the beginning.

I'm OK to start at 6 if it's going to be low 80's - but my body would like till 7 am start time for extra sleep. I'm staying in Paradise - about 20 minutes away.

All - Kevin took a spill this evening, I have no update on his condition other than he went to the hospital for observation. It seemed to be OK but went as a precaution. I have no updates on what it means for his status on this ride. I'll post more if I hear anything, or maybe he will once is his ready. Thanks.

For those of you doing the 100 (which is actually 94.09 miles) vs the Chico 125 option which is 126.2 miles - this via the Velo website. Put forth the extra effort and actually do 100 miles or in this case the guranteed route that will get you over the century mark in mileage which is the 125 option.

You pay the same for either option. Nothing wrong with more training, right? :-)

Yes, Bryan, it is called bonking. I don't think I could do the 125 even if I wanted to after doing a century the day before. I'm a bit burned out now.... But thanks

I only chose the 125 option so I can get my training ride in for the Davis Double. Sometimes even then, I think 200 miles is a bit much for one day. I don't understand why Chico can't have their ride on a Saturday, like most bike clubs..

The 125 route was a nice addition, the climb and scenery were respectively challenging and beautiful. I ran into Tim (of HW) and was grateful to share pulls with him on the way back from lunch. Was totally spent by the end, but it was a good day.

Great day, only one I saw from the group was Lennie. Great pictures from Lisa S which were uploaded.

I rode most of the 125, cutting off some of the flat miles at the end. I was pleased with the support for the most part, except the later rest stops didn't seem well prepared to deal with those of us doing the 125.
