6:00am Carpool meetup time at Park-N-Ride near sunsplash
7:30am Meetup time at Frank Raines Park
Earlier this year I led a ride from Frank Raines Park outside Paterson up to Mt Hamilton and back. Always a great and scenic ride. But now it's time to kick it up a smidgen. We will still start at Raines Park summit Hamilton but now continue on down the West side to San Jose where we will refuel and then loop back. This makes for a 90-100 mile run with some decent climbs. We may modify where we go in San Jose depending on what we find down yonder and from your input.
You must be bring what you need as far as bike spares and food but we will have full services at the 1/2 point in San Jose and water at the 26 & 74 mile markers.
This is an "advanced" mountain ride. You must be in great hill-climbing shape and have a good base.
We will have two meetup points: The Park 'N Ride at SunSplash in Roseville at Eureka & Taylor will be our carpool meetup at 6:00am which you are highly encouraged to use (suggested driver compensation is $4/hr. of drive time). The official ride-start Meetup point is Frank Raines parking lot at 7:30.
Here is the carpool meetup point.
Here is the ride Start Point in Frank Raines Park which is a 90 min. drive from the Park 'N Ride.
Please carpool where possible. If you'd like to car pool directly from my house in Roseville, please send me an email for directions. I live near Hazel & Old Auburn and can hold three additional bikes.
My ride Rules:
I reserve the right to change ride details, meetup times & locations. Always make sure to check this calendar entry the night before the ride.
Bad weather cancels.

Kurt, Chad, Mathew, Paul, come out and enjoy the ride/pain.
Have fun you guys. I'll be thinking about you while Marsh and I enjoy a sunday afternoon beer at the Wild Chicken after Six Short Steep Suckers.
Well, I guess there are two climbs for two riders!!! LOL about the beer enjoyment, Paul!
Doug, thanks for the invite but I think I'm going to pass on this one. You guys have fun, I'll catch the next one (or the one after that).
Paul, I assume you are talking about cycling regarding your "once a month" comment ;)
Doug,
Since it's just you an I so far, let's hammer this puppy out on our Langsters!
I am game if you are! You know the mt. Can we do it with out walking?
No, it is too steep and long. I was just joking to see if I could get someone to bite!
Hey Doug - think we could have cracked Quimby on our Langsters???!!!! We would have had to walk for miles!
not a chance! Quimby is a very hard climb. Iowa hill, but longer!
It is kind of funny. A few years ago when I was at the Observatory, I was in awe of these cyclists who climbed the mountain. Never really figured that it would be me doing it some day.
