C40 Saturday Aft/Evening Spin

This location is shown only to members

Ride Summary:

Terrain: Bike trail, urban road, hills!
Distance: ~40 miles
Speed: 15-17 on the flats, save energy for the hills!
Rider Level: budding intermediate and up
Climbing: ~2800 ft
Sweep: Yes, we will ride together as a group.

This is a route from Mica, which I have never done. But I'm working on Sat am/afternoon and would like to get out for an evening bike ride. Sat should be nice temps - high of 74 degrees, so thought I'd give this a try for all you nightowls out there!

We will start out at the Starbucks in Gold River off of Sunrise and venture out to Folsom and eventually El Dorado Hills to sneak in some hills. On our return, we will hit the bike trail around Folsom Crossing Bridge and enjoy the bike trail during the twilight hours! So bring your lights! cool Afterwards we can enjoy some beverages at Starbucks or maybe even a glass of wine at Il Forno Classico. biggrin

Meetup at 5:00, Depart by 5:15 pm

This is NOT a hammerfest. So leave those little hammers at home. With this ride being partially in the twilight, it is important we ride together for our safety.
Front and rear lights are required for this ride. Reflective gear would be good too.

Here is a link to the map. Please print out and bring your own copy.

Helmet and Lights are required. Don't forget the liquids and something to munch on. There will be stops for water and restrooms along the way.

If you have any questions please e-mail me.

Actually no, they did the same thing but only with a road bike. People couldn't believe it so they ran the MTB commercial instead. Their loss.

This was a really great route - really pretty and nice climbs. We had some extra folks come out & was a fun group! And yes, we did actually go into Il Fornio and eat afterwards in our bike shorts! I will be doing this route again! Thanks to Dixie and Lee for helping out on the directions for your newbie leader!

Golden evening, great group, cooler temperatures, I managed to keep up and my new lighting system works. Top it off with a charming dinner with charming ladies and what could be better?
