F30 The Hammer: Sac State to the Hatchery and back

This is a quick-paced 30 mile ride from Sac State College along the Jed Smith Memorial Bike Trail to the Hatchery and back.
This is a fast ride so we push hard. Casual riders on mountain bikes or cruisers will see us disappear into the distance in the first five minutes so please judge your equipment and your skills appropriately.
The ride starts early.

As always, helmets are required.

This event starts very near the University/65th St. light rail station in the hope that you'll save gas, money and the environment by taking the train. Schedules can be seen here...

Failing that, please consider carpooling with someone or just riding to the starting point. You can park for free in the area of 900 University Ave.

Yo, Tom ... bridge is closed, any other ideas for a meeting place?

Hi Jodi...we usually meet on the North side of Guy West bridge, just where the walking trail from university avenue meets the ARPW trail. I think that we should still meet there. You can get there via Howe I think. Also, the bridge has been open during commute times. The signs are posted; but last week and the week before, it was open by 4:15.
