TGIF - Its our shake off the week ride. Shortly after the ride starts we will be in the dark so lights are needed.
The distance is approx 20 miles and the pace is in the 15-17 mph range. The ride never leaves the bike trail and is a simple out and back route. Meaning you can turn around at anytime without fear of getting lost. This is a recreational ride and will be an easy spin as there are no hills. The ride is not intended to be a hammerfest.
We will meet at the drinking fountain/restroom near the bike trail at William Pond Park at 5:30 pm and be ready to go by 5:45pm... a quick break at Nimbus Fish Hatchery then head on back to William Pond Park. We should be back at Willy Pond by 7:15 or so. We normally catch dinner nearby afterwards?
As always your helmet is required and do not forget your light. If you have any questions please feel free to ask. [masked]
Please note that William B. Pond park will be closed by the time we return, so do not leave your vehicle inside the park. There's plenty of street parking outside (on Arden).
The weather man seems to be pretty sure of himself; right now (Thursday, 2pm) he's showing 80%+ chance of rain & 12mph wind during the ride time. We'll see in the morning. If it looks bad, we'll cancel this one and reschedule.
Do we usually ride from Gold River to Williams Pond Park or even further and come back? Sorry I might be confused about Perry's last ride, which I missed.
The ride start varies. This time, it starts from William Pond and goes to the fish hatchery. Last week, it started at gold River and went the other direction to Sac State. It gives us a little variety!
Weather not looking to good. :(
