FISH HATCHERY (map)

Ride Summary:

Terrain: Flat with a few optional steep short hills
Distance: approx 19-20 Miles
Speed: 16 - 20+ mph
Rider Level: Intermediate riders and up.
Sweep: No

The one year anniversary of the Tuesday sprint series!!!

This bi-weekly ride will be a fast paced ride designed to build endurance, speed, and practice pacelines. We'll meet at 4:45 and leave at 5pm or before if all the Yes RSVPs are present. Please update your RSVP if you cannot make the event. We'll ride .25 miles to the entrance of the South Canal and head west. There are 2 road crossings where we need to exercise caution, Sunrise and Whiterock. Once the coast is clear we'll continue on the trail down to Jackson Hwy. We'll take a short break, then head back to the Hatchery. We should be back to the hatchery by no later than 6:30.

Do not be discouraged if you get dropped on this ride. The break does not start until the last rider arrives at the break point. The idea is to push yourself but please exercise caution, we don't need anyone having any issues because they pushed themselves too hard. PLEASE KNOW YOUR LIMITS!

Here is a link that give some good pointers on dos and don't while in a paceline.Paceline etiquette

A light rain will not cancel but a heavy rain will. I will cancel by no later than 2pm if it becomes an issue.

Please bring plenty of water and as always your helmet is required.

If you have any questions please let me know

as an FYI, due to a family emergency I will not be able to attend this ride. I would rather not cancel. This ride doesn't really need to be led but a point of contact is nice for first timers and to make sure everyone gets back OK. Does anyone want to fill in as ride leader?

Susan you can ride with me, I get dropped with in the first 6 miles, then I do my 17 - 19 mph pace. I love this ride brcause it have made me stronger and built up my speed. If you are looking for speed training this is the ride to be at.

You're very welcome, Susan. Actually, you and Jeffery B got to the end just moments after we got there so great job on speeding even after a long break off the bike.

Hey thank for everyone coming out for the ride. It is nice with the time change - no light and we can get in a longer ride if we want. I roll off 42 miles, just got home before it realy got dark. It was neat to see all the time trial bikers coming down the trail. Boy were they fast.

Fun/funny ride on 3/16. Fewer riders than usual given the nice day, and we split into several cat-and-mouse groups on the way out. One smooth pace-line on the return, though.

Looks like we lost Kurt down the South Canal as he went 28-30mph. Either that, or he got abducted by Cycle Folsom race team.

Good ride tonight. Had a little bit of a "detour" as there is a strech of canal close off and the pavement ripped up just past White Rock. You'll need to take a right at White Rock, 1st Left at Kilgore Rd, Left at Slyvaner, then take the 1st Left. It will turn right into Oselot Way where there is a trail to take you up to the other side of the construction on the canal. See you guys in two weeks!
