Rider Level: Beginning hill climbers and up
Sweep: Yes
This ride is intended for riders who are interested in climbing hills and are looking for a pressure free environment in which to test themselves. This ride will also serve as the second of two lead in rides to the Spring Hill Series. This ride will have a little more distance and a little more climbing
This is not a beginner ride. You should be comfortable riding for extended periods of time and have a positive "can-do" attitude. (See the 1pm ride here for a fun social cruise, will update with link once I have posted the 2nd ride.)
Gather at 10am, leaving at 10:15 sharp!
We'll ride up the Hazel Bridge and take the trail on the north side of Lake Natoma all the way to Beals Point. We will regroup once (not a break, just a regroup) near the turn out at Greenback Lane, then continue up to Beals Point. Once we arrive at Beals we'll head down to the picnic area on the left side of the parking lot and take a 10-15 minute break (water and restrooms are available). Once everyone has compared war stories we will head back down the hill. Only instead of going straight back to the Hatchery we will go up the Folsom Crossing bridge and back into Folsom via East Natomas. Using some well placed bike trail connections we will make our way back to the Rainbow Bridge and back to the bike trail. From there we'll head back to the Hatchery using the same route. (Route map posted soon)
Please bring plenty of water and any snacks you may need. As always your helmet is required!
If you have any questions please let me know
If any other AOs want to drop by I will need some help with this ride and I'm not above begging. : )
This ride is a go! The weather is clearing but we may encounter a little sprinkle here and there. Come out and ride with me!
I was going to ride from my house (Grantline/Sunriset) to the meetup and it's pouring right now. Completely overcast. I'm out now.
You guys are the super studs! I could use the miles, but just can't bring myself to travel wet trails. Hope you have a good ride.
OK folks the weather is looking "iffy" for Saurday morning. The bulk of the storm will pass Friday night and early Saturday morning but we are still looking at a 30-40% chance of rain at 10am. My plan is to ride so I am not going to let a light rain cancel as it should be clearing. If you are going to take a pass PLEASE update your RSVP so we are not waiting for anyone who is not going to show. Thanks!
