Another climb in preparation for the Death Ride. It represents a challenge, but is still attainable for someone who isn't used to climbing. This will be a hard climb and there is no food or water along the route once we begin the ascent so bring whatever you need with you.
We meet at the Sacramento Amtrak Station and take the train to Martinez. It's $16.00 each way.
If you prefer to carpool, we'll meet at the Green Valley Shopping Center (NE corner of Diablo Rd at I-680) in Danville at 9:30.

Distance: 60 miles (out and back, 29.7 miles each way - 14 for those meeting in Danville)
Terrain: Urban & Country Roads
Elevation Gained: 3513 ft climbing (Max. 15% grade)
Skill Level: Strong Climbing Riders
Speed: 6-12 mph on hill (this one is just hill, nothing else) / 30+ on descents
Sweep: No, but we'll regroup at the turn-around.
Pace: As fast as possible, which is not likely to be very fast.
