Flower Farm Ride Social Ride

Terrain: Mostly flat with a few minor hills
Distance: Approx 30 miles
Speed: 15 mph
Rider Level: Advance Beginning and Up
Sweep: Yes, but you must keep at least 15 mph on the flat

Let's get out on MLK day and ride all you state workers! This will be a warm-down ride for me so lets come out and enjoy a casual ride.

We will meetup around 9:45 am and depart by 10:00 am.

Meet at C-Bar-C Park in Citrus Heights for a ride through Penryn and Loomis. The park is on Oak Ave about one-half mile east of Fair Oaks Blvd on the north side of the street.

Midway we will stop at the Flower Farm for coffee and a snack.

Since it appears this will get rained out and Saturday now looks to be dry I may bump this up or just schedule a different ride for Saturday. I'll update it tonight after I decide.

I agree with Jennifer, Warren. Besides, I think we can all agree that anything to slow you down is a good thing ;-p

After starting off in the morning from home (and being completely fogged in) it was a nice surprise as the sun started peaking through as we departed. Luckily, the sunshine stayed with us and the Flower Farm had some great hot chocolate to wash down those yummy bagels and lox. Great to meet a newbie in Lisa on her first HW's ride! Hopefully many more to come.

Ended up with 42 miles avg 16.7 which included Indian hill. I'll take it for return to riding #4.

Thank you SteveAO for your many encouraging words on the road. I'm glad Mica moved this meetup to Saturday. Awesome day to ride. Winter hill series rides helped me to improve on my climbs. Tuesday night sprint rides did a lot on my speed. Owe it all to group organizers continuing to post challenging rides. Most important is how great the riders are to be with any day of the week.

Great leadership and planning by Mica to pull this event off. Glad Mica is making things happen. The standards were met , friendly riders, concern for safety, some great roads for cycling, and a meetup site that was convenient to many attendees. Well done.

A good group! 8 of the riders, wanting to maximize their efforts prior to the impending monsoons, did some extendo miles/hills. Thanks, Mica, for getting us out on what was a good riding day. And Rex, you are turning into an animal on that bike. Good to see you back with us, Rob. I didn't detect any falloff at all.
