Calling all ye Hammerin' Wheels ladies!
This event is hosted by the Valley Spokesmen Bicycle group in the Bay Area. It is a very pleasant route that takes you through the wineries and country roads of Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton. The ride starts and ends at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.
This is one of the funnest metrics hosted for women only. The men serve as SAG and wait on the ladies at all rest stops. They even have fun surprises to give you after you'd climb some hills!
The 65-mile route has minimum total climbing at 2500 ft. The extra 30 miles of challenge route is optional and has another 2000 ft of climbing through Patterson Pass and Altamont Pass.
Registration is done via snail mail. However, you need to be on their mailing list in order to get the registration. Click here for your name to be added to the mailing list.
Here's the PDF copy of the 2010 Registration Form.

I'll update this event as we get closer to the date.

I mailed my registration with check about two weeks ago. My check was not cashed either. Is there phone number or email to ask?

I was thinking of camping the night before at the rv park in my little van camper. I have room for 1 more if they want to join me. Just message me :))
Daphni - I think I will join you....10am sounds about the right time. what is your cell phone number so we can connect? Marshon
What an awesome group!! Gale you've got a great idea, I was thinking the same thing because of the drive. I was wondering how many are interested in going the night before. Camping, hotel rooms?
Well ladies - this may not be a big deal to some of ya - but I hit a personal best (arfter riding less than a year) - rode 40 miles today! Woohoo. It was great to have Marshon join us - we had a great time. Gettin ready.... gettin those miles in....
Sara and Gale - I was thinking of staying at a hotel the night before too due to drive and wanting to get some sleep and not be worried about getting at Fairgrounds late.
I am up for either camping or staying the night before in a hotel. Either works for me.
I am planning on booking a room at the Marriott today. Chandra is waiting for her check to cash so hopefully she will be in too!! If anyone wants to share with the two of us we can squeeze you in:) Also - anyone interested in weekday rides out of Laguna area let me know.
I am looking for a room. it would be nice to share the room and cost. Thanks!
I just reserved a room at the Marriott for $76 with two queen beds - room for 2 more if you want in:) That would be a whopping $19 each!! Let me know.
Great!! Sara and Kelly - lucky you guys, you get room with Chandra and Mel:) Too much fun!!!!!!!!!
Downtown Pleasanton has some really nice restaurants so maybe we can all try and do dinner. My favorite place is Pasta's. Their rigatoni with gorgonzola cream sauce is yummy! Fattening...but yummy!!
aaaaahhhh, yes? did you ask everyone this question... Just asking! :) LOL :)
OK! I don't snore.... I'm tiny, so I dont need a lot of room... but I have a lot of makeup and shoes! anyone need a roomie?
I am out of the hotel loop...I am staying with a friend that lives in Alamo -- but I want to join you all for dinner the night before.
I am staying at the Hilton (for the points!), but definitely sign me up for dinner the night before.
Lourdes - were you still thinking of a ride this weekend - maybe Saturday if the weather cooperates? What were you thinking of?
I'm in Seattle on business right now and can't deal with hotel rez. til I get back, but would like to stay somewhere with someone if able. I can also make my own plans if it's all finalized by the time I get back. If there's anyone left who needs a roomie please reply. Thx!
got my green card today!! YEAH. If you all want costumes, I am OK with it...just as long as it doesn't hamper my ability to ride a bike!! Marshon
I got my green card too!! Lourdes, I am all in for the costumes - count me in - I square it up with you at dinner. So excited!!
What kind of costumes are you guys thinking about?
Yippee - my green card came today! Okay Lourdes - what enticing costumes will we be playing with???? Tropical theme??? LOL I am in for it - I love the tropics!
