Cinderella Classic

The Alameda County Fairgrounds (map)

Selected By: A former member

Distance: 65 miles or 95 miles (Challenge Route)
Elevation: 2500 / 5000 ft
Sweep: No
Registration Required: Yes (No poachers please)

Calling all ye Hammerin' Wheels ladies!

This event is hosted by the Valley Spokesmen Bicycle group in the Bay Area. It is a very pleasant route that takes you through the wineries and country roads of Livermore, Dublin, and Pleasanton. The ride starts and ends at the Alameda County Fairgrounds in Pleasanton.

This is one of the funnest metrics hosted for women only. The men serve as SAG and wait on the ladies at all rest stops. They even have fun surprises to give you after you'd climb some hills!

The 65-mile route has minimum total climbing at 2500 ft. The extra 30 miles of challenge route is optional and has another 2000 ft of climbing through Patterson Pass and Altamont Pass.

Registration is done via snail mail. However, you need to be on their mailing list in order to get the registration. Click here for your name to be added to the mailing list.

Here's the PDF copy of the 2010 Registration Form.

Here's the link to the event for more details.

Sara and Gale - I was thinking of staying at a hotel the night before too due to drive and wanting to get some sleep and not be worried about getting at Fairgrounds late.

I am up for either camping or staying the night before in a hotel. Either works for me.

Downtown Pleasanton has some really nice restaurants so maybe we can all try and do dinner. My favorite place is Pasta's. Their rigatoni with gorgonzola cream sauce is yummy! Fattening...but yummy!!

What an amazing day. Despite the cold and the crazy wind, it was so fun to ride in an environment so much support. The SAG where everywhere!!!! The rest stops were placed just right. Loved the Lemon Drop Man - a great treat after a long climb. Great riding with Kathy and Adrienne - what a great pair of ladies. Nice to get to meet other HW riders and look forward to next years ride. We have a year to come up fun ideas for our ride..... Thanks ladies for a fun time!
