It will be dark shortly after we leave so you will need a good light. Reflective gear it also highly recommended.

This biweekly ride will be a fast paced ride designed to build endurance and speed. We'll meet at 4:45 and leave at 5pm or before if all the Yes RSVPs are present. We'll ride up the Hazel Bridge and take the trail on the north side of Lake Natoma all the way to Beals Point. Once we arrive at Beals we'll read down to the restroom on the left side of the lot and take a quick break then head back to the Hatchery. We should be back to the hatchery by no later than 6:30.

Do not be discouraged if you get dropped on this ride. PLEASE KNOW YOUR LIMITS!

Please bring plenty of water and as always your helmet is required.

A light rain will not cancel this ride, but a heavy rain will. I will cancel by no later than 3pm. Please check the calendar before you leave!

I will hold off to cancel this ride until 2pm. I will still ride as long as the rain is light. 800th event is not going down without a fight!!! The pace will be redeuced as everything will be wet, or mine will anyway!

If you all make this ride tomorrow, be CAUTIOUS! I caught the trail yesterday right there by the dam, and went all the way to the hatchery. There's a lot of debris (silt, twigs, leaves, etc) on the trail. Even in daylight, I was hesitant to ride 14+ mph in spots. If you're looking to pound the pedals, it might be safer to hit the canal side.

    Jeff,

The group of riders you saw at 7 were probably the team ride out of Bicycle Planet in Folsom every Tuesday night. The ride starts a Bicycle Planet around 6:15. They welcome any riders to join them. They vary the rides and the pace is usually high.

Only 4 came out to see the sun at the beginning of the 800th road event for the Hammerin' Wheels. We decided last minute to switch over to the canal which proved to be the right decision. The bike trail was pretty cluittered from what I saw and the canal was very clean, minus a few puddles. We got a bit of a head wind on the way back that killed the avg speed but all in all it was better than rain, so no complaints! We are again on the canal next week, with no rain!! Great to meet new member Jeff tonight too!

Well we change it up and went to Jackson Hwy, Didn't have to use the light untail the way back. This was my 1st ride of the year, and what a great way to start it. Nice pace, but the wind on the return trip sucked.

I went bike riding with Jeff, Jeff & Jeff tonight. I usually have difficulty remembering names. Today was easier because I didn't have to worry about who's who. I think it was Jeff who was the fastest. He definitely was faster than Jeff. It didn't matter who I was drafting or who was drafting behind me. I knew I just had to keep up with Jeff. Great ride tonight, Jeff.
