Davis Park & Ride (Mace Blvd.) (map)
Ride Summary
Terrain: Mostly flat with some hills.
Distance: 35 miles
Speed: 15mph on the flats
Rider Level: Advanced beginner
Sweep: Yes
This is a tour of San Francisco by bike where we ride at a leisurely pace and stop along the way to see the sites and take a few pictures - this is not about getting in more miles or climbing hills. We will visit Pier 39, Fishermans Wharf, The Golden Gate Bridge, Seal Rock, The Great Highway (runs along the Pacific Ocean) and Golden Gate Park (closed to cars on Sundays).
We will meet at the Davis Park n Ride (I-80 Mace Blvd exit) at 7:45am and leave 8am sharp. You are encouraged to carpool and share the gas expenses and toll charges ($8 total for two bridges).
We will leave Davis and drive to the Presidio in San Francisco. Parking at the Presidio is free. We will gather in the parking lot near the Presidio Bowling Alley (Moraga Ave and Montgomery St) in case someone gets stuck behind in traffic. Do not park in the small lot for the tennis courts and bowling alley. Look for me across the street in the HUGE parking lot - I will be near the big tree with a white fence around it.
It can get pretty cold on the Golden Gate Bridge so dress appropriately. Bring water, money for lunch, and a camera if you have one. The mileage is an estimate and it really depends on how many detours we take.
This is San Francisco, so there will be short some but steep hills. This is NOT a ride for first time cyclists. You will be fine if you have done a 30 to 40 mile ride before, and have hill climbing experience.
You can post a message here if you are looking for a ride, or you are driving and can take passengers. Hopefully this will make it a bit easier for everyone to carpool.

Look at the weather report I found for Sunday!!
It should be a great ride. I did a test run of the planned route last Sunday and there were more hills than I originally thought. Not to scare anyone off but be prepared for a workout and some incredible views of San Francisco.
Can't make it but I HIGHLY recommend this ride!!
