Download a cue sheet from that link. Note that "Russel Ranch" is actually "Empire Ranch".
C/45
Distance: ~45 miles, approx 1960 feet.
Terrain: Flats, a couple of hills, some rollers
Ability: Just to intermediate. If you've done any of the rides that head out from Newcastle and include Ridge Rd, you should be fine.
Speed: 16'ish on flats. Saving energy for the hills.
Sweep: No, but we'll regroup at the top of each hill and at key turns.
This is ride 2 of the Winter Hill Series. After this ride, they will start to get harder.
Use of Aerobars prohibited on these rides. They are not safe for group rides. If you use aerobars, you will be asked to leave. No questions, no debates.
We leave from the parking lot just outside Hagan Park in Rancho Cordova at 9am sharp. Be a bit early to unpack and get ready. Water bottle, helmet, snacks required. I expect we'll be done by noon or so.
This ride is NOT SWEPT! If you fall too far behind, we will not wait for you. Make sure to have a cue sheet and understand the route.
If you RSVP as Maybe, it is assumed a NO unless you change it before the ride.
Rain cancels, showers does not.
This will be the starting location of most of the rides in the series.
From 50,
Exit at Mather Field Dr. Head N
RIGHT on Folsom
LEFT on Coloma
LEFT on Chase
PASS the high school on the right.
Just before the park entrance, turn RIGHT into a parking lot.
Note that I've edited the route map link. Also, I edited the post to forbid the use of aerobars on this ride. If you use the aerobars that may be mounted to your bike, you will be asked to leave.
