[New Starting Location - Hazel Light Rail Station parking lot (across from Nimbus Winery). Changed due to activities at the Aquatic Center and local construction.
Distance: 10 miles
Speed: Doesn't matter.
Sweep: Yes
This ride is for beginner beginners who wants to just ride without worrying about speed and such. We will just put our gears on cruise and get to Karen's Bakery for breakfast. The south side of the lake can be hilly though depending on your fitness level. But no worries. We'll all take our time.
We'll meet at Light Rail Parking Lot at 9 am, roll at 9:10.
Karen's bakery is about 5 miles or so from the Fish Hatchery.
We'll take our time having breakfast before heading back.
Just for fun, I just might bring my mountain bike to this ride.
Don't forget your helmet, fun-attitude and money for breakfast.
Cya all.
If running late or lost, please call my cell at 747-8651
Dang, I have been 86'ed off the ride and it has not even started. That is a record for me. =o)
Hey Kim, Phred got booted off the ride. Gonna have to find someone else to nag errr I mean pester. =o)
That's ok. I actually like to pester Otis too. Just don't let Phrotis join. He's hear he's just plain wacky.
Whoa Ms. Kim - yea you go ahead and talk smack. Just go ahead.
FYI - There is an event at the Aquatic Center on this day so you will more than likely encounter some heavy traffic of both cars and people. They will be using the Healthnet lot for additional parking which means a fairly large event.
This also means there will be little to no parking at the hatchery...
Considering the parking - I plan on leaving from Starbucks on Sunrise (same shopping center as Jamba Juice) around 9:30 or so. If anyone wants to start from there let me know and I will look for you.
Well I was thinking MST so, yea 8:30 am PST then. Phred distracted me when I was surfing the net and writing the comment. What a goob. :o)
OK, another monkey wrench to throw into the mix. There are signs posted at the entrance to the Aquatic center stating the bike trail is closed from Hazel to Folsom from 8am to noon on Saturday morning. If you still want to go you will need to go up the Hazel Bridge and take the north trail to Folsom. You can exit the trail at Greenback & Folsom Blvd. Then take the bridge across to Karen's Another option would be to go the other way on the trail and head to Bella Bru.
It is just my natural charm. I always said these road rides need a ladies touch to be successful. :o)
Sorry I have had a family emergency and am not going to make it today. Have a fun ride.
Lourdes I can help wrangle the masses if you want.
