Ride Summary

Terrain: Mostly Bike Trail
Distance: E36
Speed: 15 mph
Rider Level: Advanced Beginner & Up
Sweep: No
Departure Time: 9:15 am

Since Karen's Bakery is closed on Sunday's I've been looking for an alternative for a social ride and have found one!

Mirabelle European Cafe

On top of a large assortment of pastries and expresso bar, they also have a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu. They have quite a selection of sandwiches, salads, and TON's of crepes (sweet, breakfast and savory).

This is not a hammerfest! If you are not comfortable keeping to a 15ish mph pace on the bike trail, this ride is not for you.

Ride description:

We will head down to Bannister Park via Dewey, Winding Way, San Juan, and Fair Oaks. From there we will take the bike trail up to Beals Point for a 10 minute break for snacks and restrooms. On our return we will take the Folsom Crossing Bridge for an additional hill to return to the bike trail via East Natoma and Coloma. We'll pick up the south side of the bike trail at Karen's Bakery. On our way back to Bannister Park we'll throw in a trip up Penn. Ave for a "kicker" at the end if no one complains too much. On the tail end of our trip we will stop by Mirabelle Cafe for refreshments and good company.

This is a step up from "Karen's Bakery Ride" as we climb up to Beals Point and Folsom Crossing Bridge. Please be comfortable with those climbs.

Bring the usuals....helmet, fluids, and $$$ if you plan on getting anything at Mirabelle Cafe.

You guys looked like you were having a fun ride when I saw you. I need to organize my life better so I can get back in on the fun. Sorry I didn't have time to say more than hello.

Agree Mica. We need a sit-down with Mirabelle Cafe to help them understand our needs. The food is very good. They are just somewhat at a loss to understand how to serve a large group of riders. They'll get there, and will be an excellent venue for us then.

Roy, Bannister is fine. We should be rolling through there around 9:35 am. So 9:30 am to be safe?

This was my first ride with the group, it is a nice mix of riders with varying abilities and goals. I had a blast and look forward to riding with the group again

Enjoyed the flexibility to freelance ahead of the pack at times, and trail at others. The Bannister option was also appreciated. Lots of new faces and some great conversation. Thanks Mica. Well done!

What a beautiful day! Great group of riders along with a few HW's newbies. We had a few party crashes (who were great to see!) that I hadn't seen in a while. Mirabelle was great, though I'll make sure and call ahead next time before we invade! Glad everyone could make it out on this gorgeous day.
